I have learned that the destruction of the original boat was not only the fun part but also does not take very long. I am currently working on sealing the plywood sheets with spar urethane. This is a very time consuming task.
I am also currently replacing the sheet metal on the rails. This is not that bad but the sheet metal is very thin and gives little room for error. The attached photo shows my first run at this. I may end up replacing this piece if I have enough sheet metal left when I finish the boat.

The Beginning
In September 2011 I purchased a 1989 Lowe 200 Pontoon boat strictly with the idea of a complete renovation. I have a passion for boats and this will be my first adventure into a complete restoration. I will try to update as progress is made. Please check back!

This boat was originally set up as a fishing style pontoon. I will be restoring to a more traditional style pontoon with the bench seats in the front and an L-shaped bench in the rear.
